This video contains the basic spear form, known as Chuji Qiangshu or "elementary spear." This form is the first spear form taught in many traditional Kung Fu programs, as well as the majority of modern Wushu schools around the world. It contains all of the basic movements required to master this weapon.

The spear is known as "The King of all Weapons" and is considered an advanced level weapon. It is the 4th weapon of the 4 core Kung Fu weapons and is the 2nd of the "Long-Range" weapons. The spear is a closely related to the long staff and shares several of the same basic techniques.

The spear's essence is "The Dragon," featuring lots of movements from the hips which make the movements look like a Dragon flying through the clouds.
